STARLETT AWARDS : Organizers explain why previous edition couldn't hold as 2016 edition is set to be flagged off
After calling off the 2015 edition Starlett Awards, the organizers Starlett Awards have come out with reasons for their actions and why they have kicked off the 2016 edition.
According to the CEO of the Awards, Nkem Alan, the last
edition was called off for administrative reasons as well as the fact
that they could not meet some of their targets. She revealed that the
nominee list received lots of critique because of its weakness, adding
that they also failed to land some of the sponsorship deals that could
have seen them run the event smoothly.
“We couldn’t land the core sponsors we were looking for”,
she said. “Our nominee pool was also weak because those in charge failed
to do proper consultation before the voting commenced. We are really
sorry for what we put the nominees through, having made them spend so
much time on the voting, but we are back and better”, the entertainment
entrepreneur added.
Nkem who is a Mass Communicator with years of Business
Development experience however assured everyone that the 2016 edition
of the awards will be of every standard anyone can ever think of, adding
that they are using every tool available to them to ensure that the
event leaves and indelible mark on every heart that will witness it.
“We admit we made mistakes last time, but we have improved
and we are working with a great team of talents and experience that will
ensure that every single nominee is worth being on the list. We have
also planned out a better publicity strategy that will ensure we impact
hugely in South-East by inspiring a brighter future for the
entertainment industry”
