Until lecturers receive alert Imsu strike is still on.

IMSU strike continues today as lecturers and other staff are still expecting their salaries to be paid as agreed with the state government.
Last week saw an increased height of rumours spread by both radio stations and newpapers that the strike has been called off and academic activities were to resume today, Monday, 20th June, 2016. Please disregard any rumour saying otherwise.

The summary is that ASUU and other staff unions which are on strike will not call off (suspend as they usually put it) strike on radio or newspaper but will always call for a congress at which a decision will be reached to either continue or call off the strike.
We hope that the government of Imo state led by His Excellency Anayo Rochas Okorocha ( "Commander In Chief of Free Education") will do the expected and fulfill its part of the memorandum of understanding that was agreed upon over two months ago.
If the striking staff members receive their payments, they will converge at their congresses (usually held on same day for all unions) and will declare the strike suspended.
The Imo State University staff strike will reach 3 complete months tomorrow 21st June. It commenced on the afternoon of March 21st 2016
