"Why so many phone booths when you got cell phones" Teen lists weird things British people do.

The high school student went on a Twitter rant about everything she doesn't understand about Brits - she might have a point on some things

If you were unsure if cultural differences still exist in modern society, all you have to do is look at the tweets sent by an American student about British people.

The teen went viral after launching into a Twitter tirade attacking everything from Brits' pale skin to their food choices and turn of phrase - and, naturally, Brits weren't very happy about it.

She began by introducing her rant, saying: "im gonna do a thread on weird things British people do" (sic).

Then she listed all of her biggest bugbears - based on a British person she met on holiday - leaving no holds barred.

She also took issue with the fact Brits say 'grated cheese' instead of 'shredded cheese', the phrase 'Happy Christmas' instead of 'Merry Christmas' and adding "unnecessary U's" to words like 'honor' and 'favorite'.

Not stopping there, she ripped into Brits  pale skin ("why are yall always so pale does the sun even exist over there") and the fact we call university 'uni' and not 'college'.

And don't even get her started on scones.

She says they're really called biscuits.

We also 'drive weird' and on the 'wrong side of the road' and our British slang makes 'zero sense'.

While we're on the subject of slang, everyone stop saying 'lad' and 'mate', because we use that too much as well.

Also on her hit list were red buses, the fact we call the underground 'the tube' and phone boxes - because who needs a phonebox when you've got a 'cellphone'?

To be fair, she might have a point on that one.

After prompting a fierce backlash from British people on Twitter, she said: "im pretty sure the entire British population is in my mentions" (sic).

She asked everyone to 'learn to take a joke' but it seems her opinions have really riled some people up.

Many started replying with 'weird things Americans do', or applying logic to the British traditions she mocks.

In respose to @touradidas, I'm going to start a thread: #WeirdThingsAmericanPeopleDo.
