The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, set the blogosphere on fire after he reportedly picked a 18 year-old hearthrob, Sa’adatu Barkindo-Musdafa as wife.

Sa’adatu who is the daughter of the Lamido of Adamawa, Muhammadu Barkindo-Musdafa becomes the monarch’s fourth wife.

Premium Times reported that the new wife recently completed secondary school and is been enrolled for advanced level studies. This has sparked controversy about child brides on twitter.
