The executives of Bishop's court alliance Imo state university has flagged off an intensive waste evacuation operation to address the menace of improper waste disposal in the student area.

On Wednesday June 26, more than 20 student leaders and residents of the alliance excitedly joined two evacuation trucks to give the empty lot beside Ogidi hostel a cleaner look.

Paschal Ugochukwu, Bishop's court President said that the operation was aimed at restoring environmental sustainability as part of their promises during the campaign.

The Paschal led administration which is barely 14 days old in office called on Students residing in the area to support effort of the present administration by shunning the habit of dumping refuse indiscriminately.

He further attributed the deplorable state of the environment to the carefree attitude of his predecessor who according to him collected one thousand five hundred (N1,500) from students in false delusion of clearing the dump site but to no avail.

In lauding the exercise, the alliance President however attributed the success story to the quick interference from the PDP Zonal chairman who championed the cost implication of the exercise at zero expenditure to the alliance.
