Yoruba youths slam Fashola over comments on Buhari’s re-election

A group of Yoruba youths has condemned the comments credited to the Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, urging people of the South-West to vote for President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2019 presidential election.
Fashola, who spoke at a town hall meeting, called on the South-West people to vote for Buhari in 2019 to enable power to shift to the region in 2023.

The group, under the aegis of the Yoruba Youths Council, said the President had performed woefully and did not deserve the votes of Yoruba people. It described Fashola’s comments as absurd.

The group, in a statement issued by its National President, Eric Oluwole, on Friday declared that Buhari had no solution to any of the problems confronting Nigeria as a nation.  The group also described restructuring as the only way forward for the country.

The statement read in part, “Yoruba youths remember with consternation, the statements credited to Mr. Fashola that Nigeria’s power problems could be fixed in six months. Three years of his reign as the minister in charge of power has not solved our perennial power problems.
