Following the indefinite postponement of IMSU SUG and the cry for one, the new dean of students’ affairs, Professor Martins Uchenna has met with the Eze-in-council led by HRH Emmanuel Kelechi Obi which seems to be the present acting student body in an interactive session recently at his owerri main campus office.

Receiving the council, the erudite scholar of history and international studies, Prof. Martins Uchenna who has changed the entire skyline of the division to an amiable and more attractive outlook in less than 1 month of assuming office expressed his delight to having the council. On Cultism, he stated emphatically that he would never sign any Memorandum of Understanding with any Cult group[s] openly or otherwise, saying the present University Management has zero tolerance for cultism and other associated activities.

Furthermore, Prof. Martins urged the Eze-in-council on the need to producing progressive and vibrant Students. He promised that the Management would review some of the existing transportation policies where Shuttle Buses are not allowed to operate inside the campus assuring that its operation will be re-introduced. He urged students to always dress decently and responsibly.

Responding, the Royal King, Emmanuel Kelechi Obi, concluded by thanking the new Dean Students’ Affairs for the rare opportunity; taking time to interact with the council and was confident the Management would in due course address pertinent issues of the students which perhaps may have lingered for so long.

Indeed, one can be optimistic that the emergence of Prof. Martins is a new beginning of great things to come, knowing full well that he has come to work.
