After the relocation of Ekeukwu and Amawusa market in Douglas, owerri to new locality at Naze and Egbeada Mbaitolu, the state government has also concluded plan to relocate the Nekede Mechanic Village along Aba
road to Avu Industrial Hub in Ohaji Egbema.
It will be recalled that the state government gave this relocation notice and tried to enforce the removal last year which led to drama where the governor grabbed an Ak-47 riffle from his security detail threatening to shoot as artisans and apprentice retreated for their dear life.
According to honorable Uju Kingsley, the deputy chief of staff (Operations) who disclosed the relocation notice, he said "Avu Industrial Hub is ready and all those who have been allotted shops should relocate immediately as government is doing all to make Imo state better than it was"
