An initiative by the Students’ union
government (SUG) has brought Imo state government officials, staff and students
together in IMSU Owerri for a Woman of substance forum on Thursday 30th June
2017.

Imo state university Students’ Union
Government (SUG) has organized the largest and first ever of its kind female
program coroneted "becoming a woman of substance" at the auditorium imo
state university owerri for girl students in IMSU.
The programme saw extreme large participation
by female students who had come to the event ground fully prepared in their beautiful
and glamorous outfit despite the raining season.
Candles were burnt at both ends by the SUG
vice president iwuagu Julia to ensure a successful program which was reciprocated
in the massive turnout of students.

The wife of the executive governor of Imo
state Ugonneoma Nkechi Rochas Okorocha, the former vice chancellor Imo state University
Owerri Professor B.E.B Nwoke, special adviser to the governor’s wife on women
affairs, the SUG president University of Benin, SUG President IMSU Iwuchukwu Franklin,
SUG Director of socials Sunky, director of transport, Former SUG Director of
socials Dominic Oluka, SUG 15th Republic senator MAF, IMSU Elijah and host of other
distinguished and conspicuous citizens were present Also.
The girl students during the lengthy hour program
were taught how to save themselves when caught unaware in any unpredictable
situation by the opposite gender.

Acknowledging the vast participation of girl
students in the Campus, the former vice chancellor Imo state University Owerri Professor
B.E.B Nwoke who demonstrated his lecture to students with the aid of an audio
visual gadget asserted the need to strengthen the female students to be able to
fight against injustice.

The event was anchored by the cut above
superior ace comedian Eastern Nigeria Mc chuks alongside cooking competitions
and loads of entertainment from the likes of Lambasix, harrycool, mc chineke

The lengthy hours of training and
Demonstration at the auditorium imo state university owerri has encouraged the
spirit and enthusiasm of over 5000 female students, enriching and empowering
them to becoming essential and most vital in the society, the program ended in
all its glory.
