Okorocha accused of illegal sacking of 1,000 workers

The Owerri branch of Nigeria Bar Association has
accused the Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas
Okorocha, of unlawfully laying off 1,000 employees
of the state's local government areas.

This was even as the lawyers have concluded plans
to institute a legal action against the state
government over its policy of allegedly compelling
pensioners to forfeit 60 per cent of their pension
arrears.
