IMSU: Student senators representing various academic departments inaugurated

The imo state university Student Senate is vested with the supreme legislative power for the Student Body by the Student Body Constitution.

The body of Student Senate IMSU is comprised of 55 students who proportionally represent each of the University’s faculties and departments, including up-school campus, down school and extension campus; this is one of the findings of Elijah Madubuihe.

It was barrel of laughter at imo state university auditorium when staff and students across the various departments of the institution converged to witness administering of oath to elected senators, the occasion had in attendance the acting vice chancellor Prof. Victoria Adaobi Obasi represented by the university registra Emeka Ejinkonye,Phd, staff of the institution, students and host of other delegates.

The Student Senate is given a number of duties by the Student Body Constitution, which includes the responsibility to enact all legislation necessary and proper to promote the general welfare of the Student Body, confirm or reject all impeachments, suspend or remove from office any elected or appointed official for malfeasance in office.

Imo state university student senate is led by the Student Senate President who is elected from the student body at large.
